Wade Freshour Obituary

WADE FRESHOUR

ALTON – Wade Allen Freshour, 63, passed away at 2:57 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 25, 1956 in Jerseyville and was the son of the late Barney “Jack” and Marcella (Angel) Freshour.

He lived a simple life and enjoyed gardening, fishing, animals and the great outdoors.

Wade had a big heart and never knew a stranger. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and always had a kind word and a warm smile to share, despite all of his pain and struggles. He truly could say that he attended the “School of Hard Knocks”. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are a daughter, Geny Flowers; two granddaughters, Summer Beasley and Samantha Tesney; a grandson, River Beasly; two sisters and brothers in-law, Debra and Warren Lott of Carlinville and Vicky and Paul Settles of Jerseyville; two brothers and sisters in-law, Randolph and Jennifer Freshour of Brighton and Darren and Lori Freshour of Godfrey; along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Freshour; his mother, Marcella Long; grandparents, Lazetta and Henry Smith and Ida and James Angel.

Due to current mandates surrounding COVID-19, private interment will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Rev. Robert McAdams will officiate.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the American Lung Association or to the RA Foundation in care of Crawford Funeral Home, 1308 State Highway 109, Jerseyville, IL 62052, who has been entrusted with arrangements
