JERSEYVILLE – Victor Franklin, 86, died at 9:15 p.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri.

He was born on May 27, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri, the only child born to the late Victor T. and Alice (Herr) Franklin.

Victor graduated from O’Fallon Technical High School and went on to serve his country honorably with the United States Navy. He married the former Vicky Arlene Myers on January 2, 1960 in East St. Louis, Illinois, and together they shared 65 years of marriage and raised two children.

He was employed with Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, Missouri for 24 years, working on the assembly line, prior to his retirement.

A man who enjoyed keeping his hands busy, Victor found joy in fishing, woodworking, tinkering in his garage, and repurposing whatever he could get his hands on. His love of the outdoors extended to gardening, where he was known for growing just about anything that would take root.

Surviving are his wife, Vicky Franklin of Jerseyville; a son, Kenneth Franklin of St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tim McCoy of Grafton; three grandchildren, Jacob Franklin of St. Louis, Missouri, Jessica (Derrick) Busane of Belleville, and Josh McCoy of Grafton; along with six great-grandchildren, Victoria, Mia, Carter, Garrett, Joclynn, and Charli.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. 

Burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville or to the Jerseyville Public Library.
