Tiffaney Ellifritz Obituary

TIFFANEY ELLFRITZ

DOW - Tiffaney Jean Ellifritz, 54, passed away at 9:50 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025 at her home, with her family by her side, following a two-year battle with cancer. True to her nature, she met her illness with courage, grit, and a determination to keep living fully. Even in the hardest days, she never lost her zest for life or her will to push forward.

She was born on December 12, 1970 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Donny and Gloria (Smith) Ellifritz. Tiffaney grew up in Wood River, where she graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School. She carried with her the spirit of that community, remaining there for many years before making her home in Jersey County.

For her entire working life, Tiffaney poured herself into the banking industry. She became a trusted face and a familiar smile to so many, serving customers at banks throughout the area before finding her place with Jersey State Bank. For many years, she worked at the Grafton Branch, later transitioning to the Jerseyville Branch. Her coworkers became her second family, and her customers became dear friends. Tiffaney had a way of brightening someone’s day with her kindness, and she left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Outside of work, her heart belonged to her animals. Though she never had children, her pets were her babies and she cared for and adored them with her whole heart, finding joy in their unconditional love. She also loved the freedom of the open road, often spending time riding motorcycles and soaking in the adventure that came with it.

Tiffaney’s life was defined by her resilience, her love for others, and her ability to face each day with strength and purpose. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and perseverance will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Surviving are her mother, Gloria Ellifritz of Dow; her father and his companion, Donny Ellifritz and Roberta Lawson of Dow; her brother, Tracy (Jay) Ellifritz of Wood River; her aunt and uncle, Sandra and Jack Mizell of St. Petersburg, Florida; her cousins, Kim and Whitney; and her best friend, Pamela Harrison of Alton, who stood by her through every season of life.

Per her wishes, no public services will be held.
