TERRY TAYLOR
JERSEYVILLE – Terry Joseph Taylor, 75, passed away at 11:38 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
He was born on August 5, 1950 in St. Charles, Missouri to the late Jessie and Josephine (Dohogne) Taylor.
He married the former Diane Madson on July 20, 1974, in Jerseyville and together they were blessed with two children.
Terry proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a proud veteran and member of the Jerseyville American Legion Post #492.
He found joy in the simple things like: spending a day on the golf course, camping, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and sitting on the front porch with his dog. Whether it was a Cardinals game on the TV or a friendly jab meant to get a rise out of someone, he had a way of making every moment a little more memorable.
Above everything, he loved his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Taylor of Jerseyville; two sons and their spouses, Todd (Jeanette) Taylor of Kane, and Jason (Danielle) Taylor of Jerseyville; a brother, Timothy Taylor of Godfrey; seven grandchildren, Allyssa Nicholson, Christopher Taylor, Emaleigh Taylor, Alice Taylor, Halle Taylor, Lindsay Taylor, and Brinley Taylor; 2 great-great grandchildren, Isabella Stark and James Johnson; as well as a special niece, Dawn (Jerry) Cooley of Fosterburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly (Pete) Koester; a brother, Mike Taylor; her in-laws, Warren and Carman (Sloan) Madson; and a brother in-law, Robert “Bob” W. Madson.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Crawford Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 10 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home.
Burial will immediately follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 Honor Guard.
The family would also like to thank the nurses and CNA’s on 300 Hall of Jerseyville Manor for the kindness and care that that provided to Terry over the past few years. They all became an extension of Terry’s family and they are forever grateful for that.
