SHEILA SCHMIEDER

JERSEYVILLE - Sheila Renee Schmieder (nee Russell), 60, died peacefully at 1:08 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

She was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on October 30, 1964, one of three children born to James Lee and Mary Jane (Stevens) Russell.

Sheila graduated in 1982 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, and attended Robert Morris College in Carthage Illinois, where she pursued her interest in administrative work. Her work passion led her into several different career opportunities throughout the years including working as an administrative assistant for Illini Medical Associates and Nextgen, where she specialized in medical billing.

Sheila was a devoted mother and grandmother who found joy in nurturing her family. She enjoyed reading, crafting, music, and being entertained by movies and sitcoms. She was blessed with many friends along the way and found happiness in sharing memories she made with those closest to her.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Bradley & Tiffanie Schmieder of Fieldon, and Jeremy & Katelyn Schmieder of Dow; stepson Kevin and Meaghan Schmieder of Vermont; a brother and sister in-law, Brad and Melody Russell of Jerseyville; a sister in-law Donna Russell; and three grandchildren Jaxon, Landon, and Kayce Schmieder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Steven Russell, an infant niece, Samantha Russell, and her grandparents, Herschel and Florence Russell and Roger and Marjorie Stevens.

Per her wishes, cremation rights will be accorded, and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Tribble Memorial Cemetery in Piasa.

Memorials may be given to Tribble Cemetery or to a fund to assist in the placement of a headstone at her gravesite, both in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
