SCOTT WALSH
JERSEYVILLE – Scott Randall Walsh, 70, passed away at 4:14 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023 at his home in Jerseyville.
He was born on July 21, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of the late Harry Holmes and Enda (Linton) Walsh.
Scott grew up in the Chicagoland area, and served went on to serve our country honorably with the United States Army as a mechanic. He continued to use these skills he learned and worked as a mechanic in various fields throughout his life.
He resided in Southern Illinois, near Cobden, for the majority of adult life, prior to settling in Jerseyville, where he has remained for the past nine years.
Scott had a passion for music and there wasn’t an instrument that he couldn’t play. He loved spending time with his family and friends, was known as the prankster and for his practical jokes and especially enjoyed a good hand of cards.
Surviving are his longtime companion of over 20 years, Frances Dawes of Jerseyville; his sons, Terrance Walsh, Randy Walsh, Travis Walsh and Vincent Walsh; his step-children, George (Ruth) Schultz, James (Robyn) Schultz and Jennifer Schultz; a brother, Charles Walsh; a sister and brother in-law, Karen and David Stanley; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Holmes; his mother, Edna Walsh; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Mary Linton; a sister, Veronica Bennett and a granddaughter, Mya Dougherty.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 12 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Crosspoint Church, 104 Public Road, Fieldon, IL 62031.
Private burial will take place in Alto Pass, Illinois.
