JERSEYVILLE - Ruth Winslow, 80, passed away at 1:09 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at her home in Jerseyville.
She was born on July 28, 1945 in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Robert William and Mary Lou (Alessi) Stine. She married Donald Dean Winslow on August 7, 1964 at the Capitol Hill Methodist Church, and together they were the parents of three children. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2018.
Ruth was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the former Greenwood Manor in Jerseyville, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. Earlier in life, at the age of 18, she worked as a clerk typist in administration at the Pentagon, an experience she often remembered with pride. In her free time, she loved to read and sew and enjoyed collecting a variety of dolls over the years.
She is survived by her three children, Theresa and Gary Simington of Lake Sherwood, Missouri, Diane Elnaholy of Jerseyville and Mark Winslow; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Theresa Stine of Erie, Pennsylvania and Rebecca Stine of Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, David and Michael Stine.
Per her wishes, no services will be held.
Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville has been entrusted with arrangements.
