RONALD DILKS 

JERSEYVILLE - Ronald Lee Dilks, 77, passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Ronald was born on March 26, 1948, on the old Kane Croft Farm North of Kane, Illinois, the son of Leroy and Margie Dilks. He was a proud graduate of Jersey Community High School, Class of 1966.

He was employed for many years at Godfrey Boxboard in Godfrey, Illinois, as an Ink Master.  Ronald was a deeply selfless man, known for loving fully and giving every piece of himself to those around him. His heart was big, his loyalty unwavering, and his presence meant everything to the people who knew him best.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald “Butch” and Aimee Dilks of Kane; a daughter, Crystal Dilks of Jerseyville; grandchildren, Owen “OJ” Dilks, Jessica (Scott) Rigg, Jamie (Matthew) Saxsma, James Ursch, Auston Ursch, Olivia Kimble and her companion, Larry Lung, Makinley Dilks, John “Vito” Auston, Jr., Amanda (Kevin) Triebes, Jacob (Bekah) Longley, Heather Allen, Dale “Scotty” Bell and Cody Bell and his companion, Joey Smith; great-grandchildren, Blaire Dilks, RyLeigh Dilks, Gabbi Dilks, Gunner Dilks, Addison Arnold, Zachary Arnold, Hunter Lehman, Kashton Lehman, Marlee Ursch, River Barber, Rayna Lung, Roy Triebes, Sawyer Triebes, Joshua Longley, Mia Longley, Hayden Womack, Brantley Fogle and Kannon Allen; his “bonus” grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Chloe Smith and Amoni Wiles. 

Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Richard Lott of Jerseyville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy Dilks of Jerseyville and Billy and Pam Dilks of Grafton; as well as a sister-in-law, Christine Dilks; nieces and nephews, Brian (Julie) Lott, Jason Lott, Christopher Dilks and his companion, Tiffany Knebel, Justin Dilks and his companion, Kaitlyn Gunning; as well as his great-nieces and nephews, Colton Dilks, Reilly Underwood, Blake Lott, Zach Lott and Nate Lott; as well as his special friend and caretaker, Matthew Hill. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen “Leroy” and Lelia Mae “Margie” (Schaaf) Dilks;  two daughters, Pattie Longley and Dawanna “Dawn” Dilks and her companion, Boby Bell; an infant granddaughter, Dora Rose Bell;  two brothers, Rodney and Kevin Dilks; as well as the mother of his children, Marian Wallace. 

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2025 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday with his nephew, Brian Lott, officiating. 

Burial will follow at Fieldon Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family, in care of Crawford Funeral Home, to assist in the placement of a monument at his gravesite.
