He was born on December 6, 1942 in Carrollton, Illinois to the late John and Thelma (Allen) Scoggins and graduated from Jersey Community High School.
He married the former Geraldine Kaye Heitzman on July 7, 1962 at the home of his parents in Jerseyville, and together their marriage was blessed with three children and many wonderful memories together throughout their 49 years of marriage. Gerry preceded him in death on July 28, 2011.
Bob and Gerry were residents of Jerseyville for the majority of their married life, with the exception of their time in Kane, where they operated the grocery store from 1976 to 1981, as well as one in Delhi for three years from 1982 to 1985. Bob was also employed as Meat Cutter at Hansen Packing in Jerseyville, prior to his retirement.
He had a love for fast cars, and created many friendships as a member of the Street Machines Car Club. Anyone who knew Bob could also attest for the pride he had in his 1995 Chevy Silverado.
