Ricky Davidson Obituary

RICKY DAVIDSON

DELHI - Ricky David Davidson, 71, died at 1:22 a.m., Sunday, March 22, 2026 at his home in Delhi.

He was born on July 22, 1954 in Carrollton, Illinois, the son of the late Paul and Barbara (Baumgartner) Davidson. He was a standout football athlete while attending Carrollton High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships and memories.

He shared the past 48 years with the love of his life, Rhonda (Brainerd) Davidson, and the two were married on December 29, 1982 at the Presbyterian Church in Carrollton. Together they built a life centered around hard work, family, and simple joys.

For 20 years, Ricky was employed as a mechanic with Craftsmen Utility Trailer in St. Charles, Missouri. He was known as a hard worker who rarely slowed down, often working seven days a week. Even outside of his full-time job and after his retirement, he could often be found helping area farmers, always willing to lend a hand wherever he was needed.

He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing for catfish, and spending time outdoors. More than anything, he loved his family and the life he built with them.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Davidson of Delhi; two sons, Rick Davidson of Pahrump, Nevada and Dustin Davidson of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Gaige, Tyler, Jocelyn and Dustin II; three great grandchildren, Kendall, Ryan and Oliver; his “baby girl,” who he loved as his very own, Cassie Foster and her daughter, Kimmie Jo Foster; his siblings and their spouses, Belinda and Dennis Gress of Hardin, Danny and Ava Davidson of Greenfield, Jerry Lee and Linda Davidson of Carrollton, Tammie and Dennis Hiles of Portland, Oregon, Pamela and David Eisch of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Paul and Gary Davidson of Glen Carbon, and Marion and Becky Davidson of Carrollton; along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony Davidson and Dickie Bill Davidson; and two sisters, Susan Williams and Joy Davidson.
