RICHARD DUNHAM

KANE - Richard Glenn Dunham, 81, died unexpectedly at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Fieldon, Illinois on March 5, 1939, and was one of six children born to Otis and Lola Mae (Talley) Dunham.

Richard was a skilled carpenter, owning and operating, Dunham Construction for nearly 35 years before retiring in 2004. During his career he was known to be a dependable, talented carpenter, and his many projects can be seen throughout the Tri-County area.

He served as a Kane Volunteer Fireman for 55 years and was a friendly fixture at the firehouse, making sure there was always coffee ready, and was always up for a good card game. He also served on the Kane Cemetery Board for many years.

He married the former Ruth Ann Willis on April 14, 1973 at the Kane Baptist Church in Kane, and they have shared the past 47 years together.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ann Dunham of Kane; four children and their spouses, Kent and Patty Dunham of Kane, Dan Dunham of Hawk Point, Mo., Evan and Kina Jones of McKinney, Texas and Andrea and Darin Craigmiles of Kane; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister in-law, Melvin and Joanne Dunham and Carl Dunham, all of Jerseyville; a sister and brother in-law, Anna and Glenn Cain of Jerseyville; and a sister in-law, Mary Lee Dunham of Fieldon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kara Dunham; a grandson, Blake Dunham; two brothers, Thomas Dunham and Kenneth Dunham; a sister in-law, Dorothy Dunham; and his father in-law and mother in-law, Wayne and Martha Willis.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Monday, January 4, 2020 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Private funeral services will be conducted, with Rev. Larry Hayes officiating.

Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside services on Monday at approximately 1 p.m. at the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kane Cemetery Association, in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
