RETHA EBERLIN

KANE - Retha Marie Eberlin, 69, died at 5:09 a.m., Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Willow Rose Rehab & Health Care Center in Jerseyville after a period of declining health.

She was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on March 6, 1955, and was the daughter of the late Carl Richard "Red" and  Iva Dean (Daniels) Berry.

Retha grew up in Kane alongside her four siblings, and graduated in 1973 from Jersey Community High School. For nearly 25 years, she was employed in Housekeeping at Principia College in Elsah. After the death of her only daughter Kristy, Retha spent her time, energy and love raising her granddaughter, Mylee.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Mylee Woolsey of Jerseyville; a sister, Nancy Reno of Carrollton; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Gwenda Berry of Carrollton, Roger and Marcia Berry of Jerseyville, and Rick and Susan Berry of Michigan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristy Woolsey on May 12, 2010.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Kane Baptist Church, with Frank DeWitt officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Kane Baptist Church.
