RALPH E. SIEVERS

JERSEYVILLE – Ralph Eugene Sievers, 69, passed away at 9:59 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 at his home in Jerseyville.

He was born in Carrollton, Illinois on July 2, 1951 to the late Lawrence Anthony and Margaret Cecelia (Roentz) Sievers. Ralph grew up in Calhoun County, Illinois and graduated with the Class of 1969 from Jersey Community High School.

He served our Country honorably with the United States Army and went on to further his education Ranken Technical College.

He married the former Linda Johnson on July 3, 1971 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Carrollton and together their marriage was blessed with 49 years and the joys of raising their family and working alongside one another in their business endeavors.

After completing his degree, Ralph owned and operated Siever’s Refrigeration for many years and also owned and operated A-OK Rental’s from 1997 until his health required him to retire in 2018.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, fishing and hunting; the occasional poker game with his friends; and most especially, spending time with his family on the farm and mushroom hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Sievers of Jerseyville; two children and their spouses, Anna and Nick Thuer of Grafton and Ralph J. and Anne Sievers of Evansville; four grandchildren, Trent Thuer, Alexander Sievers, Grant Thuer and Hannah Sievers; two brothers and sisters in-law, Lawrence “Larry” and Virginia Sievers and Lynn and Carolyn Sievers, all of Jerseyville; a brother in-law, David Dixon of Carrollton; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Sievers and a sister in-law, Peggy Dixon. 

Memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass at 1p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Jerseyville. Father Martin Smith will officiate.

Burial will follow at St. Norbert’s Catholic Cemetery in Hardin.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
