JERSEYVILLE – Phyllis Anne Ernest, 94, finally found her peace in the Lord’s arms on November 2, 2025, at Jersey Community Hospital in the presence of her family.

Phyllis was born on March 3, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan and lived in Saginaw, Michigan until the passing of her husband of 62 years, Frank Donald Ernest, Sr. and relocated to Grafton, Illinois.

Together, they raised seven children, Frank D. Ernest, Jr., Terry M. Quellet (Mike), Sherry Herrala, Debora A. Gowin (Mike), Diane M. Bruce (Dwight), Crystal R. Ernest, Carolyn Ernstmeyer (Thadd), 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of the Midland, Michigan Figure Skating Club in her 20’s and 30’s. A parishioner of the Catholic Faith, she was involved in various activities, such as, choir, teaching, and cleaning the church to name a few. She was devoted to saying the Rosary daily.

An avid walker, she always had a word of wisdom or encouragement for anyone she may have encountered and wore out many tennis shoes in the process. Her kindness extended to giving away numerous homemade knitted slippers and delicious homemade baked goods to family, friends, and acquaintances.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be conducted and no services will be held. She will rest beside her husband in Saginaw, Michigan.
