Peggy was a devoted wife, amazing mother and consummate “giver”.  She spent her life serving those she encountered andloved sharing her gift of hospitality with all she met. WhereverGod called Peggy and Clay, she always found a way to make their home a welcoming and happy place.  Peggy would sing in the choir and find ways to serve wherever there was a need, from leadership to serving on committees. Most recently she led the Operation Christmas Child ministry at FBC Jerseyville. She took her leadership skills beyond the local church to the Great Rivers Region of the American Baptist Churches, USA, serving in women’s ministry and holding consecutive terms as Vice Presideint and President of the Region’s General Assembly.

In several of the churches where Peggy and Clay served, she established “Chuppers” her name for a mid-week community meal.  She loved serving alongside her friends and cooking meals for the church families. Peggy served 5 summers at Camp Judson in South Dakota assisting in camping ministry, alongsideClay. She worked in the kitchen cooking for hundreds of people each summer. Even in their retirement, Peggy and Clay volunteered to lead a retirement, village church in Florida for 17 winters.
