Paul Watson

Paul Watson, 82, passed away at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.

He was born on August 28, 1940 in Grafton to the late Arthur and Laverna (Stumpe) Watson.

Paul served our Country honorably with the United States Army and retired from Ford Motor Company, where he worked in Quality Control.

He married the former Wanda Darlene Ready on June 24, 1972 at United Methodist Church in Grafton, and together they were blessed with 48 years of wonderful memories, prior to her death on February 20, 2021.

Paul enjoyed spending time outdoors, both hunting and fishing. The greatest joys of his life came from the time spent with his family. Each and every one of them held a very special place in his heart, and he treasured each and every moment with them all.

Surviving are his daughter, Tracy Rowling of Grafton; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Cathryn Rowling of Rock Hill, Missouri, Amanda and Luke Cronin of Jerseyville and Zachary Rowling and his fiancé, Ashton Kuehnel, of Saint Louis, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Rosalee June and Caroline Jean Cronin and Grant Patrick Rowling; a sister, Peggy Nugent of Alton; as well as a sister in-law, Carolyn Watson of Brighton.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Watson on May 11, 2009; a son in-law, Patrick Rowling on November 25, 2019 and a brother, Gerald Watson.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jeseyville.

Burial will follow at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton, with full military honors being conducted by the Grafton American Legion.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the Grafton American Legion.
