JERSEYVILLE  - Patricia Ann Johnson, 76, passed away at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Willow Rose Rehab & Healthcare Center in Jerseyville.

She was born on April 28, 1947 in Alton, Illinois and was the daughter of the late James C. and Zelma (Jackson) Aldridge.

Pat grew up in the Brighton area, where she graduated with the class of 1965 from Southwestern High School.

Shortly thereafter, on December 28, 1965, she married Everett Erwin Johnson Jr. in Madison County, Illinois. Together they were the proud parents of three children, who they raised on the family farm in rural Jersey County.  Throughout their 48 years of marriage, they shared in many wonderful memories with their family, prior to his passing on June 27, 2014.

Pat enjoyed cooking and hosting family and friends at the farm, shopping and shared a mutual love of St. Louis Cardinal baseball with her husband and children.  

She centered her life around her family as a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be fondly remembered for her outgoing personality, her genuine concern for others, her generosity and her contagious smile.

Surviving are three children, Daniel Johnson of Jerseyville, Deborah Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri and Daron (Ruth) Johnson of O’Fallon, Illinois; her brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Patricia and Sonny McNeal of Petersburg, Peg and Bill Mitchell of Kane, Michael and Mary Johnson of Peoria, David Johnson of Waverly and Donnie Leach of Litchfield.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Leach Jr. and her father in-law and mother in-law, Everett Erwin Johnson Sr. and Betty Johnson.

Private services were held and she was laid to rest alongside her husband at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

In honor of Pat’s love of animals, memorials may be given to Riverbend Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
