NORMAN JONES

JERSEYVILLE -   Norman Jones, 89, died at 10:13 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Jerseyville on Dec. 30, 1928, and was the son of Wesley and Mary Margaret (Hewitt) Jones.

He graduated from Jersey Township High School, and was and United States Korean War Army veteran. He was always active and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He enjoyed golfing at every opportunity and looked forward to golfing with his friends at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Alton.

He married the former Nora Irene Lyles on July 28, 1956 and together they have shared 62 years of marriage and proudly raised two daughters.

Surviving are his wife, Nora Jones of Jerseyville; two daughters and son in-law, Rebecca and TonyPearlstone of Creve Couer, Mo, and Jane and Stan Vlasak of Maryville; six grandchildren, KatherinePearlstone, and her fiance' Andrew Lemons, Nick Pearlstone, Jack Pearlstone, Sara Vlasak, Sam Vlasak,  and Spencer Vlasak; a brother, Paul Jones of Jerseyville; and brothers in-law and sisters in-law, Lillie Wilson, Richard "Dick" Lyles, Cora Hadlock, James Lyles, Robert and Jean Lyles, Edith and BernieDugger and Janice and Bob O'Brien.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Pearlstone on March 17, 2006; and a sister, Ruth Stocks.
Cremation rites have taken place.

A Memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m., Thursday until time of memorial services at 12 noon at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Memorials may be given to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or if you wish, please perform a random act of kindness in Norman's memory.
