JERSEYVILLE - Nancy Susan “Sue” (Stark) Miller, 83, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home.

Sue was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 4, 1940, one of three daughters born to the late Douglas & Nancy (Lederer) Stark and she spent her adolescent years in Springfield, Missouri.

She married Nelson “Heidi” Miller on March 2, 1963 and together they were the parents of three daughters and shared 44 years together.

Sue was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Family was most important to her. Sue’s grandchildren and great grandson further enriched her life. They were a source of love and joy for her. She also held a special bond with her sister Pam.

Sue had a passion for music, singing, playing the piano since a young child, reading and movies. If there was a good band or song playing, you could find her dancing and singing along. Sue was known for her kind heart and loved by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Mimi Miller, Jenny (Miller) & Jeff Shourd and Tammy Miller; her sister Pam (Stark) & Tony Slavens; four grandchildren, Megan Watson, Brett Woelfel, Sadie Shourd and Clay Shourd; and one great grandson, Wes Schultz.

In addition to her parents and former husband, she was preceded in death by her younger sister, Cindy Stark.

Private burial was held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville was entrusted with arrangements.
