NANCY STONE

JERSEYVILLE -   Nancy Ann Stone, 69, died at 7:42 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2024 at her residence after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born in Jerseyville, Illinois on February 16, 1955, and was lovingly raised by her mother Betty (Taylor) Conrad, who instilled in her children the virtues of hard work, loyalty to family, and compassion.

Nancy graduated in 1973 from Jersey Community High School, and began working at a very young age.   She held various jobs until obtaining employment with Ropers Plastics in Jerseyville, where she was employed for 24 years until the plant closing.   She then went on to work in the warehouse and packaging at Cope Plastics in Godfrey, retiring on January 3, 2020.

She married Allen Eugene Stone on April 28, 1979 in Jerseyville, and together they have been blessed with many wonderful memories.

Surviving are her husband, Allen Eugen Stone of Jerseyville; a sister, Linda Devening of Jerseyville; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Conrad; a brother and sister in-law, Charles and Pamela Conrad; a brother in-law, Gary Devening; and her loving grandparents, Walter Raymond and Vera Taylor.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society or to Riverbend Humane Society.
