MAZIE BRIDGEMAN
JERSEYVILLE – Mazie Oleta Bridgeman, 79, died at 12:12 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville.
She was born on September 25, 1940 in Jalappa, one of eleven children born to the late Jeese Edward and Thelma Marie (Kirchner) Weller Sr. and grew up, along with siblings in Jalappa, and attended Jalappa and Jerseyville Schools.
Mazie was devout in her Christian faith and enjoyed attending church services and sharing with others her love of the Lord; she also enjoyed country music and her grandchildren were her true pride and joy.
She is survived by two daughters and a son in-law, Susan Weller of Jerseyville and Tina and Johnny Reynolds of Jerseyville; a son, Joseph Bridgeman of Jerseyville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Ricky Weller of Cleves, OH; a sister in-law, Ruby Weller of Bethalto; as well as a brother in-law, David Strack of Wood River.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamie Bridgeman; two grandsons, Daniel and Ollie Price III; a granddaughter, Rachel Viviano; a son in-law, Lonnie Greer; seven brothers and their spouses, Jesse Jr. and Dorine Weller, Harvey and Sharon Weller, Bill Weller, Jim Weller, Benjamin “Lin” Weller, Clete Weller and Julius Weller; as well as two sisters, Jeanette Strack and Joann Shain.
Due to current mandates surrounding COVID-19, private graveside services will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
