MARY LOU EISLER
JERSEYVILLE - Mary Lou (Dabbs) Eisler 91 went to meet her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Jersey Community Hospital.
Mary Lou was born January 19, 1934 at home on the farm in Ottercreek Township.
Mary Lou had a deep abiding love for God, family and friends. She grew up with the pleasure of many Aunts, Uncles and cousins living nearby. Much fun was had swimming and fishing in the nearby creek. Lots of fish fries and many card games with neighbors in the winter.
In 1952, she met a black haired boy, Bob Eisler from Jerseyville. They married on June 6, 1953.
A love that lasted 72 years and 2 months. A lifetime of memories were made. They had two children, a son, Bob K (Mary) Eisler and a daughter, Kathy (Joe) Fessler of Dow. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Molly Boes (Fiance’ Matt Lovewell), Paul (Shelby) Eisler, Bethany Huelskoetter (significant other Adam Meyer) all of Jerseyville. Mitch (Kayla) Fessler of Dow. 10 great grandchildren Lucy Boes, Tessa, Eilee and Ada Huelskoetter, JJ, Judson, Nellie and Hank Fessler, Conrad and Violette Eisler.
Mary Lou worked at Rudolph’s Department Store in her younger years, making many special friends. She loved to serve God, over the years as a youth group leader, Lay Pastor, lead many Bible studies, VBS Teacher, Sunday School Teacher and anything in between. She also served her community as past President of the Jersey County Health Board, Blood Recruiter for Jersey County, working countless blood drives, Election Judge for years. But her passion was volunteering at the Jersey Community Hospital as a “Pink Coat Lady”, with over 7,000 hours.
She also had a card ministry sending hundreds of birthday, anniversary, get well, sympathy or “just praying for you” cards.
She is survived by a special sister, Brenda Allen of White Hall, many nieces and nephews, along with their spouses and children.
Preceding her in death were her beloved parents Kearney and Alice (Busch) Dabbs, a special sister Betty Cunningham and two brother-in-law’s Clifton Cunningham and Roger Allen.

Brook staff over the last year and a half for their kindness, the Jersey Community Hospital ER and medical floor for their support and amazing care as she transitioned to Heaven.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday, August 11, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at Noble Cemetery in Otterville.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or to the Jersey Community Hospital Foundation.
