Linda Lee Armstrong Obituary

LINDA LEE ARMSTRONG

JERSEYVILLE – Linda Lee Armstrong, 78, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Jerseyville Manor.

She was born on May 24, 1946 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Bill and Joyce (Dodge) Lovell.

Linda lived a life filled with love, creativity, and devotion to her family, always finding joy in the simple beauty of everyday moments.

Linda was married to Jack Armstrong, with whom she shared many treasured memories. Together, they enjoyed camping trips to Southern Illinois, captivated by its natural beauty and serenity. It was a special place for them, so much so that they chose it as their final resting place. Jack preceded her in death on January 26, 1997, and Linda will now be laid to rest beside him.

Linda was a gifted hobbyist with a natural talent for creating beauty wherever she went. Her love of gardening was evident in the vibrant blooms that adorned her yard, and her green thumb extended to her cherished house plants. She also enjoyed sewing and crafting, pouring her creativity into countless projects that reflected her warm and caring spirit.

While her hobbies brought her personal fulfillment, her greatest pride and joy came from her family. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lit up when surrounded by her loved ones. Her grandchildren had a special place in her heart, but her great-granddaughter, Autumn, was the light of her life and her cherished little buddy. The bond they shared was very special and brought Linda immense happiness.

Linda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, which will be carried on by her four children: Joyce Sutton and her longtime companion, Terry, of Alton; Marie (Tom) Charlton of Fieldon; Jason Wallace of Alton; and Michael (Alicia) Wallace of St. Louis, Missouri. She was the proud grandmother of Samuel (Debbie) Surratt, Brandy (Jeff) House, Carl (Mary) Powers Jr., and Ethan Wallace, as well as the adored great-grandmother of Autumn Powers. Linda is also survived by her sister in-law, Kathy Lovell.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Tommy and Raymond Lovell.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, at West Eden Cemetery near Cypress, Illinois, where Linda will be reunited with her beloved Jack.

Linda’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, surrounded by the beauty and simplicity she loved so much in life. Her legacy of love, creativity and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
