LINDA DAWBER
JERSEYVILLE - Linda Faye Dawber, 65, passed away at 12:17 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, at her home in Jerseyville.
She was born on November 25, 1959, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Martha Helen (Norton) Wright.
Linda’s life was filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of luck. She was previously married to Michael Stephen Mellas, who preceded her in death on September 21, 1998. Years later, life brought her a second chance at love, and she married Charles Dawber on October 2, 2004, in Jerseyville. He survives and will forever carry her memory in his heart.
A devoted wife, a proud mom, and a deeply adored grandma, Linda was the kind of woman who showed up, fiercely and fully, for her family. She found joy in the little things, excitement in the casino, and purpose in her work. She was employed as the office manager at Bria of Godfrey, where her dedication and care made a lasting impact on those she worked with and served.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Dawber of Jerseyville; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sarah Mellas of Grafton; two grandchildren, Molly and Samantha Mellas of Grafton, along with their mother, Katie Mellas of Elsah; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Donald Dunsing of Jerseyville and Pam and Dennis Cox of Carrollton; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sandy Wright of Jerseyville.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred and Nancy Dawber, Mark and Tina Dawber, Robin and Charles Coleman Jr. and Kathy Dawber, all of White Hall; Timothy Dawber of Texas, Connie and Kevin Barr of Washington state, Stephen and Beverly Dawber of Dixon, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her beloved pet, Dooney.
In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Alex and Matthew Dawber.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2025 at Eldred Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest alongside her first husband.
