LARRY WEAVER
JERSEYVILLE – Larry David Weaver, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.
Born on September 29, 1949, in Alton, Larry was the son of the late Howard D. and Beatrice Mildred “Bea” (Neese) Weaver. He grew up in Godfrey and graduated from Alton High School in 1968.
Larry shared a unique and enduring relationship with his wife, Starla (Follis) Weaver. Their lives together proved that sometimes life gives second chances to those meant to be connected. Together, they enjoyed attending car shows in Jerseyville, sharing a passion for classic cars and the nostalgia they brought.
Over the years, Larry worked as a security guard for various companies, dedicating many years of service in the industry.
Larry was a man of many interests. He had a deep appreciation for NASCAR, diesel trucks, and classic cars, often reminiscing about the golden days of American engineering. He loved riding his motorcycle, a pursuit that brought him a sense of freedom and adventure. Those who knew Larry also knew of his love of Diet Coke, and was rarely seen without one in hand.
Larry is survived by his wife, Starla Weaver of Jerseyville; his brother and sister-in-law, Garry and Sue Weaver of Godfrey; and two nephews, David Weaver of Godfrey and John (Sara) Weaver of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by three siblings in infancy: Terry, Sharon and Linda Weaver.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Private burial will take place at Indian Creek Cemetery in Hamburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Brighton Church of Christ.
Larry will be remembered for his kind heart and the simple joys he found in life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
