Kristopher Steehlinger, 28, died at 10:49 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Springfield, Illinois on September 17, 1993, the son of George Alan and Kristi Rachelle (Loy) Steehlinger.
Kristopher loved being around people, and even with his sight issues, never met a stranger, always sending out a pleasant "hello" to everyone he met. Prior to Covid he loved going to Wal-Mart, and probably should have been a greeter, with his pleasant personality. He was such a fighter, and could handle more needle sticks and surgeries than most adults. He had a deep and innocent love for his Mom, Gran, Aunt, Great Aunts and Uncles, and cousins, all of whom are going to miss this little guy immensely.
Surviving are his mother, Kristi (Loy) Steehlinger of Jerseyville; his grandmother, Patricia Loy of Jerseyville; aunt and uncle, Tonya and John Roberts of Godfrey; cousin, Stephanie Hoefert, and her husband and daughter, Chris and Chanler of Godfrey; Great Aunts and Uncles, Shelia and Don Sevier of Alton, and Belinda and Rick Woolsey of Jerseyville; as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grandfather, Frank Loy; Great Grandparents, Milbern and Opal Eakes, Wilbur and Dorothy Loy; and a great uncle, Raymond Eakes.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.
He will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the National Kidney Foundation.
