Kenneth Dunham Obituary

KENNETH DUNHAM

JERSEYVILLE – Kenneth Lee Dunham, 67, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home in Jerseyville.

He was born on March 26, 1956 in Wood River, Illinois, one of five children born to Kenneth H. and Mary Lee (Lyles) Dunham.

He grew up on the family farm in Fieldon and graduated with the Class of 1974 from Jersey Community High School.

From a young age, Kenny possessed a strong and ambitious work ethic, starting his own construction company, KLD Construction, which he owned and operated for nearly 40 years.

He married Lisa Clausen on March 17, 1997 in Negril, Jamaica and together they resided in Godfrey for many years, prior to relocating to Placida, Florida, where they remained until returning to Jersey County in 2022.

Kenny had a deep appreciation for his family roots and for nature. He found peace and contentment spending time in the woods, mushroom and deer hunting, sitting alongside the banks fishing and taking care of his cattle.

His family meant the world to him, and he treasured each and every moment he was able to spend with them all, most especially his grandsons.

He will be infinitely missed as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Surviving are his mother, Mary Lee Dunham of Fieldon; his wife, Lisa Dunham of Jerseyville; a daughter, Sunshine Young of Fieldon; two grandsons, Brayden and Rylee Young; two brothers and a sister in-law, Douglas Dunham and Steven and Sherri Dunham, all of Fieldon; a sister and brother in-law, Julie and Greg Beyers of Elsah; his special K-9 companion, Lily; along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply, including a very special nephew, Dustin Dunham.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth H. Dunham; a brother, Bradley D. Dunham; a son in-law, Kevin Young; a sister in-law, Kathy Dunham; paternal grandparents, Otis and Lola Dunham; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Mary Lyles; his father in-law and mother in-law, Fred and Margaret Clausen; as well as his K-9 companion, Peaches.

Private inturnment will take place at Fieldon Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will announced at a later date.

For those desiring, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, in care of Crawford Funeral Home, 1308 State Highway 109, Jerseyville, IL 62052, who has been entrusted with arrangements.
