Jeffrey Alan Hodge Obituary

JEFFREY ALAN HODGE

JERSEYVILLE - Jeffrey Alan Hodge, 62, died at 9:44 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2025, in the Emergency Room at Jersey Community Hospital.

He was born on July 21, 1963, in Jersey County, the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (DeSherlia) Hodge. Jeff grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a personality that made him instantly memorable. He was employed as an electrician with Labor Local 643, where he took great pride in his work and the friendships he formed along the way.

Jeff enjoyed the simple things that made life fun - fishing and hunting whenever he could, good music, cheering on the Chicago Bears, and watching NASCAR. He never met a stranger, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone made him someone people genuinely enjoyed being around. He also appreciated a good Jim Beam with just a splash of Pepsi, often shared in the company of friends.

Surviving are his children, Brian Hodge, Brandi Hodge, Hunter Hodge, and Gabriel Abbott; a sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Javin Hayes; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Theresa Hodge; as well as many dear friends who will miss his humor, his stories, and his easygoing spirit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Hurst and Paula Rulo.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday. Burial will follow at Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.

Memorials may be given to the family to assist in the placement of a monument at his gravesite.
