JAMES RICHARD ALLEN

FIELDON – James Richard Allen, 73, passed away at 4:05 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 15, 1952 in Carrollton, Illinois to the late James and Audrey (Crader) Allen.

He married Catherine M. Peipert on November 15, 1975.

A proud United State Marine Veteran, James lived a life marked by service, hard work, and love for those around him.  After his military service, he devoted his time to farming, a way of life that reflected his dedication, strength, and deep respect for the land.

His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy.  Nothing lit up his world more than the time he shared with his grandchildren, making memories they will carry with them forever.

James was also proud to serve as the Commander of the Jerseyville American Legion Post #492, where he honored fellow veterans and gave back to the community he cherished.
