JACOB FRY

PEORIA – Jacob Ray “Jake” Fry, 38, formerly of Jerseyville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 12, 2024 at his home.

Jake was born on November 22, 1985 in Jerseyville to Dennis and Donna (Ward) Fry. He was raised a farm boy and attended Jerseyville schools and graduated from James Madison Academy.

He resided in Peoria, where he was a proud employee of O’Brien Steel Services, where he cut metal with precision and welded on multiple projects.

Jake loved anything that involved being outdoors, but his greatest love was spending time with his son, Jayden. He was so proud of his big boy and spoke of him nonstop. His love for his sisters was evidenced by his bright eyes and smile every time they were together. His smile was infectious, and we will miss his silliness, his big hugs and his kind heart.

Surviving are his son, Jayden Fry of Jerseyville; his parents, Dennis and Donna Fry of Jerseyville; two sisters and brothers in-law, Carrie and Ronnie Scott of Jerseyville and Jenny and Jacob Kuehnel of Alton; his nieces and nephews, Isaac (Bri) Baiers, Tyler (Erica) Baiers, Ellie Baiers and Jonah Kuehnel; great nieces, Violet and Mabel Baiers; as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin and Phyllis Fry; maternal grandparents, Don and Kate Ward; as well as an uncle, John Ward.

Per his wishes, cremation rights will be accorded.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 12, 2024 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville. 

Inurnment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Jerseyville, followed by a luncheon at the KC Hall.
