Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Jerseyville, working at various jobs, including the Grafton Boat Works and McDonnell-Douglas.  In 1970, he opened his own business, JL Nash Enterprises, and he and Kaye ran the business together for 47 years.  In addition to his service to the community through business, Jack served as a Trustee at Jerseyville Gospel Assembly, as well as being a pillar member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville, serving in ministry, as well as usher staff and sound operation.

Jack's primary focus was serving the Lord and raising his family.  His greatest joy came from raising his two children alongside his wife, as well as spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Later in life he reconnected with his Vietnam war buddies from the "Cha Rang Gang", enjoying many reunions.

Surviving are a son and daughter in-law, Darren Michael and Natalie Nash of Alton; a daughter and son in-law, Melissa Kathryn and Kyle Allison of Jerseyville; seven grandchildren, Emily Diann (Thomas) Theisen, Mitchell Dawson Nash, Griffin Drew Nash, Owen William Robien, Caroline Ann Robien, Carter James Allison and Makayla Kathleen Allison; two great grandchildren, Thomas Michael and Cecelia KayeTheisen; three sisters, Carol Ehlers of Jerseyville, Sharon Feltenstein of Jeffersonville, In., and Karen Miller of Jerseyville.
