HOWARD DWAYNE GRADY

CARROLLTON – Howard Dewayne Grady, 57, passed away at his home in Carrollton on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:18 a.m.

Born on October 26, 1967, in Carrollton, Dwayne was the beloved son of Howard L. and Carol (Heitzman) Grady. He was a graduate of Jersey Community High School.

Dwayne built a career in sales, beginning with four different car lots, where he shared his love for automobiles and developed a reputation for his personable approach. Later, he continued this works as a salesman at the Jerseyville Pawn Shop, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and his knack for connecting with customers.

Dwayne had a lifelong passion for cars and took great pride in his knowledge of them. He also adored his feline companion, who was a constant source of comfort and joy in his life.

He is survived by his loving mother, Carol Grady of Dow; his siblings, Brian Grady of Dow, Carrie Grady of Roodhouse, and Kyle Grady of Alton; and his significant other, Sherry Hillmann.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard L. Grady.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Kane Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his father.
