HILDA FOWLER
JERSEYVILLE – Hilda Marie (Isringhausen) Fowler, 86, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.
She was born in Nutwood on June 25, 1933, one of eight children born to the late Alfred and Caroline (Groppel) Isringhausen.
She worked tirelessly as a Home Health Aide in the area; sharing her love and compassion with those in need.
Hilda enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dominos; was a former Women of the Moose member. She built her life around the pillars of Faith and Family. She had strong family values and relished in the time spent with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and grandpets. She was a longtime and devout member of the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, where she served for a period of time as Deaconess.
Surviving are a son, David Fowler of Charlotte, NC; a daughter and son in-law, Susan and Dean Long of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Jerika (Jimmy) White of Franklin; Trent Long of Jerseyville; Chris (Caroll) Long of Carbondale and Mike (Julia) Long of Cobden; six great-grandchildren, Kinley and Kaliah White; Daniela and David Long; Amelia and Clara Long.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Cardwell; five brothers, Ernest, Ralph, Lawrence, James and Leonard Isringhausen; as well as two sisters, Berenice Bean and Alberta Beiermann.
A drive-thru visitation will be held on Monday, June 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Private funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
