Goldie Duggan Obituary

GOLDIE DUGGAN

JERSEYVILLE – Goldie Lorraine (Teney) Duggan, 69, passed away peacefully at 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 13, 1956, in Jerseyville, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret Teney. On October 23, 1982, Goldie married the love of her life, Michael Duggan, beginning a beautiful 43-year journey together.

A woman of many talents and a relentless work ethic, Goldie attended Lewis & Clark Community College and dedicated seven years to Walmart. However, she was perhaps best known for the beauty salon she operated out of her home for over 30 years. To Goldie, her clients weren't just customers; they were dear friends. She also stood as a vital partner in her husband’s business, manufacturing screen printing equipment. She took immense pride in telling others how their small-town craftsmanship reached corners all over the world.

Goldie’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Michael; their five children and their spouses: Kevin (Julie) Duggan of Otterville, Adam Duggan of Grafton, Tyler (Rachel) Duggan of Godfrey, Rebecca Duggan of Jerseyville, and Marissa (Luke) Knabe of Jerseyville. She was the proud grandmother of Mallory, Lindsey, Chase, Aidan, Jolyn, Ella, London, and Shylar, and was blessed with one great-grandchild, Delilah Duggan.

A social butterfly with a zest for life, Goldie loved dancing, boating, camping, and a spirited game of cards. She was an avid shopper who never met a yard sale she didn't like. Above all, her faith in the Lord was her compass, and she found great purpose in sharing that love with everyone she met.

She is survived by her sister, Lawanda (Jason) Cox of Dow; a sister and two brothers in Indiana; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Murel Grogan; brothers Dale and Cecil Grogan; and sisters Josephine Smith, Florence Mitchell, and Brenda Baker.
