Frances "Franny" Thompson Obituary

FRANCES THOMPSON

KANE – Frances Faye “Franny” (formerly Butler) Thompson, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Willow Rose Rehab and Healthcare in Jerseyville.

Born on March 28, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois, Franny was one of six children born to the late Louie and Dorothy (Hoffman) Pearse. She spent her early childhood in East St. Louis, where she made many cherished memories before her family relocated to Jerseyville.

Franny began her working career at Roeper’s Plastics in Jerseyville and continued to work tirelessly even after the plants closing. She ended her working career at AirMark until her well-earned retirement. Her work ethic was a testament to her dedication as a mother, ensuring her two children were always provided for.

In the summer of 1999, Franny married Daniel Thompson in East Moline, Illinois. Their marriage brought her some of the happiest years of her life, filled with love, laughter and shared memories.

Franny had a unique ability to connect with people. She never met a stranger and could spend hours chatting on the phone, whether it was with family, friends, or even telemarketers. Her humor and warmth were boundless. She was known for her generosity – if someone needed help, Franny was there, even if it meant sacrificing her own needs.

Her weekly Monday shopping trips to Walmart with her daughter Amy became an event, often stretching the entire day as she made new friends in every aisle. She was a people person through and through, always leaving an impression on everyone she met.

Surviving are her husband, Danny Thompson of Kane; a daughter, Amy (Butler) Fraley and her companion, Bruce Longley, of Jerseyville; a granddaughter, Jenna Longley; her siblings, Cathy (Wilson) Helfer of Jerseyville, Louie Pearse and his companion, Kathy Clark, of Kane, Kim Frank of Jerseyville and Mike (Sherrie) Pearse of Jerseyville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Matt Mouser; a brother, Bernie Pearse; as well as a very special aunt, Agnes Vallowe.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until time of funeral services at 5 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
