BETTE HALL
CARROLLTON — Elizabeth Anne “Bette” Hall, 92, died at 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.
She was born on June 12, 1933, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Frederick and Alma (Jarling) Anders.
Bette married Robert Hall on March 2, 1958, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, and they began their married life there, where Bob operated a Mobil Gas Station. Yearning for something different, they relocated to the St. Louis area in October of 1967, where Bob accepted employment with McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft. A short time later, a friend suggested they move to Jerseyville, and they never looked back. Bob found a farm out in the country, and though Bette once swore she would never live out in the “boondocks,” it soon became their “Heaven on Earth” — a place where they raised their family, worked side by side, and filled their home with love and lasting memories.
She worked for Ward’s Dairy in Jerseyville and was a devout Lutheran, faithfully serving as a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville. Over the years, she served in many capacities within the church, including as church secretary for many years, dedicating her time and steady presence to her church family.
Bette was an avid gardener and took great pride in her beautiful flower beds and overflowing pots, which became a signature of her home. She was also a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and especially enjoyed the friendly rivalry she shared with her sister, a loyal Chicago Cubs fan. The two delighted in watching their teams face off, turning baseball games into moments of laughter and spirited competition.
Surviving are her husband, Bob Hall of Carrollton; her four children and their spouses, Kelli and Steve LeBlanc of Jerseyville, Kristi and Floyd Greene and Kerry Hall, all of Kane, and Korri and James Ontis of Jerseyville; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Guilander) Hall; two brothers, Richard “Dick” Anders and William “Butch” Anders; and a sister, Mary Jane Wilkinson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.
Visitation will continue Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville. Rev. David Otten will officiate.
She will be laid to rest in Kane Cemetery.
Memorials in her honor may be given to Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville.
