DOROTHY DUNHAM

JERSEYVILLE -  Dorothy A. Dunham, 75, died at 12:44 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her residence.

She was born in rural Fieldon, Illinois on Oct. 29, 1944, one of nine children born to the late Archie and Lorine (DeClue) Cain.

Dorothy was a stay at home Mom for many years and took great pride in her family. Later in life, she utilized her caring ways for others, becoming a CNA with the Jersey County Health Department.

She married Carl Dunham on June 2, 1961 in Nutwood, Illinois and together they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary.

Surviving are her husband, Carl Dunham of Jerseyville; a daughter and son in-law, Christine and JeffStrotheide of Jerseyville; a son and daughter in-law, Jeremy and Rachel Dunham of Jerseyville; two grandchildren, Joshua Strotheide and Amanda Davis, and her husband, Nicholas, all of Jerseyville; four sisters and brothers in-law, Erma and Norman Baker of Titusville, Fl., Geraldine and Clifford Daniels of Jerseyville, Rose and David Chapman of Fieldon and Barbara and Lenny Travers of Fieldon; four brothers and sisters in-law, Robert and Barbara Cain, Glenn and Anna Cain, and Wilbur and Barbara Cain all of Jerseyville, and Charles and Wanda Cain of Branson, Mo.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lynn Dunham of Oct. 4, 1991; and a grandson, Roger Allen Dunham on Aug. 10, 2017.

Due to mandates surrounding COVID-19, private services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at LifechurchX (formerly Charity Christian Center) in Jerseyville.

Burial will take place in the Fieldon Cemetery at a later date.
