JERSEYVILLE – Donna Jean Hayes, 70, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 4:10 p.m.

She was born on August 26, 1954 in Jerseyville to Ronald and Maxine (Scott) Roth.

On July 6, 1974, Donna married the love of her life, Thomas Ray Hayes, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville. Together, they raised their two beloved children, sharing a bond built on faith and family. Thomas preceded her in death on May 17, 2020.

Donna dedicated many years to Wal-Mart in Jerseyville, where she served first as an associate and later as a manager. Her warmth and care touched many lives in her workplace and beyond.

A spirited fan of both the St. Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos, Donna enjoyed cheering on her favorite teams. Her passions also included antiquing, cooking, and gardening – she had a true love for her flowers. Above all, she adored her grandchildren, treasuring every moment she spent with them.

She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Cody Hayes and Jenna Cornelius of Jerseyville and Maggie and William Conrey of Colorado; five grandchildren, Colten Hayes, Louie Conrey, Deena Parr,  Ryleigh Cornelius and Avery Cornelius; a sister and brother in-law, Tina and Kenny Jones of Jerseyville; a brother, Rick Roth of Jerseyville; a sister in-law, Dulce Clendenny of Jerseyville; two brothers in-law and a sister in-law, George Farmer of Jerseyville and Rusty and Becky Farmer of Jerseyville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Joe Myers.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday.

Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Carrollton.
