DENNIS MILLER
JERSEYVILLE – Dennis Leeman Miller, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Evercare of Lebanon.
He was born on September 19, 1946 in Nutwood, Illinois to the late Earsie and Hazel (Seeman) Miler.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he felt most at home in a deer stand or casting a line into the lake. If it involved the outdoors, he was all in.
He had a deep love for country music, often turning it up just a little louder than necessary. But nothing brought him more joy than his grandkids. They were the light on his life and he was their biggest fans.
Known for his sharp wit and playful sense of humor, he had a way of making people feel welcome wherever he went. On the basketball court, he earned the nickname “Old School”, a title he wore just as proudly.
He could always be spotted around town with his SpongeBob truck. It became part of his charm and a reminder he was never too serious.
He is survived by his son, Jamie (Danielle) Miller of Roodhouse; three brothers, Herb (Deborah) Miller of Missouri, Jeff (Mary) Miller of Fieldon, and Danny (Ava) Miller of Jerseyville; two sisters, Debbie (Jim) Wyhs of Fieldon and Melissa Miller of Fieldon; 6 grandchildren, Arianna Miller of Jerseyville, Jada Seay of Alton, Marcus Johnson of Hazelwood, MO., Joshelle Miller of Alton, Therian Miller and Thane Miller both of Roodhouse; 2 great-grandchildren, Eliza Weiner of Jerseyville and James Vaughn VI.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a daughter, Shara Miller; two brothers, Doug Miller and Forrest "Pony" Miller; a sister, Betty Miller; and a nephew, Jerry Wyhs.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10 a.m.
