JEREYVILLE – Debbie Jean “Deb” Herring, 66, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Sanford, North Carolina on January 10, 1957, to Delmas and Jonnie-Jean (Thomas) Holder.

Deb’s childhood was spent in Phoenix, Arizona where she grew up with her three sisters and her mother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crafting and spending time with her family. She was also a lover of country music and dancing.

Later on, she married and was blessed with three sons who she adored more than anything. They were the light of her life and there was no greater joy to her than being their momma. She was there for everything – athletic events, award ceremonies and everything in between. She never missed the chance to tell everyone how proud she was of her boys.

Deb lived life to the fullest and made every day count. Not only was she an amazing mother, but she was someone you could always count on. Anyone that knew her, knew that she would give the shirt off her back for those who needed it.

Deb is survived by her sons, Stephen Wade Herring and David Gene Herring, both of Jerseyville and Michael Jay Herring of New York City, New York; sisters, Sandy (Holder) Anderson and Millie (Holder) Joralmon, both of Phoenix, Arizona, Teresa (Holder) Mingus, Sherry Holder and Traci Holder, all of Sandford, North Carolina; her ex-husband, Kevin Herring of Tokyo, Japan; her boyfriend, Doug Meyer of Jerseyville; a granddaughter, Alena Kimberly Balyeat of Cedarville, Michigan; along with many nieces and nephews.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Delmas Holder and Jonnie-Jean (Thomas) Holder and a brother, Dale Holder.

A Celebration of Life to honor Deb will be held at a later date.

Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville has been entrusted with arrangements.
