DAVID ISRINGHAUSEN
JERSEYVILLE - David M. Isringhausen, 88, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, from complications related to Parkinson’s disease. Dave was a man of great faith and unbelievable strength and character. His life was centered on his family, helping others, and serving his community. Dave was born in Fieldon, IL, on August 21, 1936 to the late Marvin E. and Nellie M. (Walz) Isringhausen. He was a member of the JCHS Class of 1954 and the undefeated football team of 1953. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant with the Nike Guided Missile A Company. Dave was a lifetime member of the Fieldon Masonic Lodge. Dave’s multi-era service on the Jersey Community Unit 100 School Board was a source of much pride to him. Dave had always considered himself an "Old Jersey County Farmer". He grew up working on his father’s farm in Fieldon and he eventually bought the farm in 1963. In 1980, he retired from farming and sold the farm to his brother, Paul. Although he was retired, his love for farm life never waned. Dave’s father, Pappy, had the largest impact on his life. Pappy taught him the value of hard work, the importance of service to others, and the importance of sharing the gifts he received from his work with others. Dave married the former Sharon Calvin on December
21, 1955 in Alton and shared in 57 years of marriage, prior to her death on June 19, 2012. Together, Dave and Sharon lovingly raised their two daughters, Kyra McCoy (Robert) and Kari Nairn (Russell), who survive them. David was incredibly proud of and loved by his grandchildren David (Diana), Matt (Kate), Will (Cloie) and Drew McCoy, Kelsee and John David Nairn, and his newest special girl, great-grandaughter Francisca (Frankie) McCoy. Even though his grandchildren lived far away from him, Grandpa Dave was a constant presence in their lives. David and Ann Egelhoff were married on April 8, 2017 2017 and she survives. He will be greatly missed by his loving, extended Egelhoff family: Judy (Mark Springman), Jim (Danielle Gallo), Jerry and Linda Egelhoff, and the Finkeldey and Seaton families. Dave is also survived by his brother, Paul Isringhausen. In addition to his parents and his wife Sharon, Dave was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Jr., Richard, and Loren; his sister, Margaret Winters; and a grandson, Benjamin McCoy. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, followed by a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 11:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Services at 1 p.m., on Friday, December 20. Rev. Joel Lohr will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by the Jerseyville American Legion Post #492.Memorials may be given for a Scholarship Fund to be established for graduates of JCHS, who intend to pursue elementary education or nursing as a career.
