DANNIE MALONE

JERSEYVILLE - Dannie R. Malone, 91, of Jerseyville, died at 9:40 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026, at his home.

He was born December 7, 1934, in Fieldon, Illinois, the son of Olive Frye. Dannie married the former Doris Pickett on January 29, 1955, and together they shared many years of marriage until her passing on April 16, 1987. He later found companionship and love with Janice Tepen, with whom he shared 19 years of life together before her passing on March 25, 2007. 

Dannie served his country with the United States Army and was employed as a forklift operator with Olin Corporation, where he worked faithfully for many years. Known for his strong work ethic, Dannie was a hard worker throughout his life and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness, dependability, and quiet generosity were qualities that those who knew him will long remember.

He is survived by his step-son, Bill (Debbie) Yates of Grafton; his dear friends, Chris and Chrisy McElyea of Jerseyville; two sisters-in-law, Betty Burch of Kane and Anne (Howard) Marshall of Grafton; four grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his mother and wives, he was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Malone; a brother, David Fair; and a sister, Ida Mae Armstrong.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Moeller Cancer Center.
