Dallas Eugene Wilkinson

DALLAS WILKINSON 

MARION, IOWA - Dallas Eugene Wilkinson, 75, died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City. 

He was born on March 22, 1950, in Carrollton, Illinois, the son of the late Curtis and Ada (Shaw) Wilkinson. After graduating from Jersey Community High School in 1968, Dallas served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He then attended Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville School of Business and graduated with a degree in Business Management. He resided in Saint Louis, Missouri and Jerseyville and Greenfield, Illinois, before moving to Marion, Iowa to be closer to his children and grandchildren.  He was married to Elaine DeGrande, with whom he shared twenty years before her death in April, 2025. Besides spending time with his family and pet birds, Dallas enjoyed the outdoors and playing music. 

Dallas is survived by his four children, Kelly (Brian) Gingras, Corey (Nicole) Wilkinson, Amanda (Kevin) Engelkamp, and Casey Wilkinson; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Carla (Bill) Brady and Kathy Wilkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty McKenney Bratten; and a niece, Jamie Cox Watters. 

At Dallas’s request, no services are planned and cremation rites have been accorded. He will be missed and fondly remembered by his loved ones.
