Cynthia Elaine (Hughes) Harris, 65, died at 12:05 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital surrounded by her loved ones after complications from surgery.
Cindy was born in Alton, Illinois on April 27, 1957. She was born to Willard and Constance (LeFaivre) Hughes.
She will be remembered for her generous hospitality, quick wit, adventurous spirit and ability to make anyone smile. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and true inspiration to all.
She was also a wonderful “mom” to her dogs and loved them very much. She was funny, intelligent, caring and so much more. Most importantly she made our world so much brighter. We will love and miss her always.
She leaves behind her husband Arthur Harris, Sr. (married 42 years); her two sons, Marc Hughes and Jason Neikirk; four step-children, Janice, Trudy, Arthur Jr., and Michael Harris; grandkids Tiffany and Tanna Hughes, Taylor Davis, Jasmyn Neikirk, Dalton Zumbalhen, Mackenze Harris, David Harris and Anthony Harris; Great grandkids Gracelynn Mapp and Ja’Koby Neikirk; two brothers Jeff Hughes of Grafton, Jon (Donna) Hughes of Grafton; a sister Donna (Chad) Weisman of Huntingburg Indiana; three sisters in-law Becky Hughes of Fieldon, Margie Hughes of Kane and Mary LeFaivreof Philo; multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Connie Hughes and Willard Hughes; five brothers, George LeFaivre, James (Jim) Hughes, Kevin Hughes, Evans (Ebb) Hughes and Chris Hughes; and one sister in-law Judy Hughes.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 19,2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Grafton American Legion.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
