CRAIG "FERG" FERGUSON

JERSEYVILLE - Craig "Ferg" Thomas Ferguson, 58, of Jerseyville, Illinois, passed away on July 23, 2025, in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital.

Craig was born on November 23, 1966, in Carrollton, Illinois, to R. Dennis "Denny" Ferguson and Marian "Toni" Ferguson (nee Liles).  A lifelong resident of Jerseyville, Craig was a man of few words but many friendships.  Known and loved by so many, he had a kind spirit and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.  To Craig, no one was a stranger - he considered everyone a friend.

He loved watching NASCAR and was a devoted listener to KSHE 95, passions that brought him joy and comfort throughout his life.

Craig is survived by his father, Denny Ferguson; his sister, Leslie Ferguson-Dietz (Tom); and his nephews, Connor and Colin Dietz, all of Mill Valley, California.  He also leaves behind many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Toni; his nephew, Cooper Dietz; his favorite aunt Joyce; and his grandparents. Viola Liles, Thomas R. Ferguson, and Alice Breckon Hooley.

The family is especially grateful to the staff and community at Illinoi Valley for the more than forty years Craig spent there.  The programs, activities, and trips he enjoyed through Illinois Valley brought meaning, adventure, and connection to his life.  Their dedication made a lasting impact.

Deep thanks also go to Dottie Kuebrich, Lisa Young, and Tony Muensterman for their unwavering support, kindness, and friendship.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  Funeral Services will follow on Tuesday, July 31, at 10:00 a.m., with interment immediately following at Carrollton City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easter Seals Midwest, an organization close to the family's heart.

Craig will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
