CONNIE FAYE (WHITLOCK) GETTINGS

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO - Connie Faye (Whitlock) Gettings, a faithful servant of the Lord, completed her work on earth and entered into the presence of the Savior on October 3, 2025, at the age of 84, at her home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, surrounded by her loved ones as she peacefully passed into our Savior’s arms.

Born on March 2, 1941, to Gilbert and Bessie (Goheen) Whitlock in Jersey County, Illinois, Connie was rooted in a deep and abiding faith from an early age. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering trust in God, which she shared with everyone around her through kindness, compassion, and a gentle spirit. She found strength in scripture, joy in prayer, and peace in the promise of eternal life.

On December 2, 1956, she married her husband, Isaac Leroy Gettings, in Corinth, Mississippi. Together they built a home filled with devotion, laughter, and enduring love.

She is survived by four of her children: Ernie and Becky (Forbes) Gettings, Bill and Pamala (Gettings) Dilks, Joe Gettings and his partner Carrie Scott, and Virginia Gettings. Connie also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren—each a living testament to the love and care she poured into her family. She is also survived by her sister, Lela (Daniels) Seidler; her brother, Larry Zimmerman; and her foster brother and sister, Donnie and Donna Garrison.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Vera (Sutton) Whitlock and Chester and Bessie (Goheen) Daniels; her foster parents, Jim and Geneva “Neve” Garrison; her beloved husband of 54 years, Isaac Leroy Gettings; her son, Leroy Laverne “Vern” Gettings; four grandsons, Christopher Gettings, Steven J. Minner II, Matt Klopfer, and Ben Klopfer; and three great-granddaughters, Haley Faye Hazelwonder, Zoey Eileen Gettings, and Madyson Purcell.

She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jackie (Bland) Whitlock; her brother and sister-in-law David and Rhema Whitlock; her brother Ernie Whitlock; her sister and brother-in-law Edwin and Ruth (Whitlock) Klein; her sister and brother-in-law Gary and Mary (Zimmerman) Legate; her sister and brother-in-law Bob and Joy (Whitlock) Winslow; and her sister-in-law Kathy Zimmerman.

Visitation will be held at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville on Thursday. October 9, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 p.m.

Burial will follow at Noble Cemetery in Otterville.
