Cleo Lott Obituary

Cleo Edward Lott, 83, passed on January 26, 2026, at 4:57p.m. surrounded by family that he loved dearly and that loved him dearly. Cleo was born on April 25, 1942 in Mediapolis, Iowa to the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Boulton) Lott. He married Joetta Eisler on June 3, 1965. They raised 3 sons, Brad, Chad and Thad. He served 2 years in the Army from February 1964 to February 1966. He served 8 months in Vietnam. While stationed at Ft. Riley and for medical training at Ft. Sam, He met Virgil Feighner of Falls City, Nebraska. They remained friends until Virgil passed in September 2024. He served as a medic and was Sharpshooter (rifle), Expert (rifle M-14), awarded Good Conduct Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was Honorably discharged February 27, 1966. He enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers in his spare time in his shop and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. He spent his working career with the Olin Corporation, retiring in 2004 as a Machine Adjuster after 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joetta Lott; 2 sons, Chad (Tina) Lott of Burlington, Iowa; Thad (Tracy) Lott of Jerseyville; seven granddaughters and one grandson, and nine great grandchildren; four brothers: Warren (Debbie) Lott, Richard (Connie) Lott of Jerseyville, Roger (Jeannie) Lott of Jerseyville, Leland (Sue) Lott of Dow, Ronnie (Theresa) Lott of Dow; three sisters, Irene (Bob) Lacey of Fieldon, Robin (Larry) Bridgeforth of Tennessee, and Annette and her special friend, James, of East Moline, Illinois; and special friend and in-laws, Jim and Ruth Martin of Gillespie, IL. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina, and a son, Brad; his parents, Samuel and Elizabeth Lott and a brother Ralph Lott. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Crawford Funeral Home with family present to greet friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10 am at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, with Brian Lott officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army Food Pantry, in care of the funeral home.
