CHERYL RULO

GRAFTON - Cheryl L. Rulo, 78, died Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born in Wood River, Illinois on June 9, 1946, and was the daughter of Alvin and Juanita (Dawdy) Blair.

She grew up in Roxana and attended schools there, before graduating in 1964 from Alton Senior High School.   

She married Richard Rulo on March 4, 1972 in Alton, Illinois and together they have been blessed with 52 years of marriage and the joys of their two daughters and grandchildren.

In her younger years, she was a beautician until her marriage, but continued to practice her skills on her daughters throughout their growing up years. Her main focus was her family, but throughout the years she was employed with various establishments, including Pere Marquette State Park, where she was employed as a cashier, and later with Tara Point Inn in Grafton, where she was a housekeeper.

She played an active role in her children's lives and was a loving wife, mother and Grandma, and will truly be missed.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Rulo of Grafton; two daughters, Stacey Rulo of Godfrey and Dayna Crocker of Peoria; twin grandsons, Gentry and Wyatt Crocker.

She considered herself blessed to be a part of the Rulo family as well, and she is survived by her in-laws, Jerry Rulo, Terry and Ellen Rulo and Shirley Rulo, all of Grafton, Charlene Carpenter, Betty Howard and Sharon Lyons, all of Alton, Dottie Rulo of Godfrey and Brenda Rulo of Taylorville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Blair; her mother and stepfather, Juanita and Donald Chappell; a brother, Barry Fry; her father in-law and mother in-law, Rolla and Blanche Rulo; and in-laws, Kenneth, Joseph, Roy, Ronald (Kathy) Rulo, Paula Rulo and Rollen Rulo.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Burial will be in Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.

Memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
