DOW - Charles Nicholas “Nick” Wedding, 69 years old, died unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home.

He was born on June 15, 1954 in Jerseyville to William Cutler and Doris (Young) Wedding.

He married Toni Renee (Coates) on December 5, 1979 in Madison County, Illinois and they shared 42 years of marriage together until her passing on June 2, 2022.

In his younger years, he worked on the river on towboats and continued his working career as a welder and a carpenter.

Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time riding his Harley and fishing with his grandchildren.

Surviving are four children Josh Frisk of Steeleville, Missouri, Wendi (Billy) Duncan of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Jamie Wedding of Elsah and Sylvia Wedding of Dow; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his mother, Doris Wedding of Dow; siblings, Yvonne (Carl) Duncan of Dow, Greg (Jeannie) Wedding of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida,  Renee Zimmerman of Grafton and Terry (Debbie) Wedding of Grafton.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father William Wedding and his granddaughter Zoey Gettings.

Per his wishes, no services will be held.

Crawford Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the family, in care of the funeral home.
