Carolyn Herbert Obituary

CAROLYN HERBERT

JERSEYVILLE – Carolyn Sue (Robinson) Herbert, 68, formerly of St. Louis County, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at 5:05 a.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her home in Jerseyville, following a brave battle with Ovarian Cancer.

She was born in Saint Louis, MO on October 31, 1951, the youngest of four children born to L.T. and Hattie (Parker) Robinson. Carolyn grew up in North Saint Louis and was a graduate of Central High School.

She married Albert Herbert on July 1, 1972 and together they made their home in Saint Louis County where they raised their family, prior to relocating to Jerseyville in 2009.

Carolyn spent the majority of her adult life working for A.G. Edwards & Sons, now Wells Fargo, in Information Technology for the past 38 years. She truly enjoyed working with and socializing with the office branch employees and assisting them with their computer systems. This is where she met and developed strong, long lasting friendships with Kelly Roseman, Laura Dorris and Tim Lane. Anyone that she worked with would send her magnets from all over the country and she became known for her extensive collection throughout the years.

While she did take pride in her professional career, there was no greater title that she wore than that of Mom and Granny.

Surviving are her husband, Al Herbert of Jerseyville; two daughters and sons in-law, Pamela and Matthew Roth of O’Fallon, Missouri and Donna and Jim Sloan of Jerseyville; along with five grandchildren, Vanessa, Ryan, Jake, Andrea and Alyssa.

She was preceded in death by her father, L.T. Robinson; her mother, Hattie House; a brother, Gene Robinson; as well as two sisters, Donnett Robinson and Wanda Perry.

Despite her struggles, Carolyn always maintained a positive outlook and inspired us all with her strength and courage as she fought her illness.

Per her wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and no services will be held.
